A striking silver lacquer bowl designed to bring understated glamour to a contemporary interior.

With its luminous silver-painted interior, glossy black lacquer rim and contrasting dark exterior, this generously sized decorative bowl makes a beautiful centrepiece for a dining table, console or coffee table. It can also be used as an elegant serving bowl when entertaining.

Handcrafted rather than mass produced, this is traditional Vietnamese lacquerware from Huong Nga Fine Arts in Ho Chi Minh City. Each piece is created using a time-honoured lacquer process involving 13 individual coats, producing the depth of finish and durability that distinguishes artisan lacquerware from the plentiful bulk-produced lacquerware found throughout Vietnam.

• Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may cause colours to fade or change.
• Do not use harsh chemicals or very hot water.
• Do not soak.
• Wipe dust and moisture away with a soft dry or damp cloth.
• Hand wash with mild dish detergent when required.
• Do not place in the dishwasher.
• Rinse with warm water and dry immediately.
