Sasi's family runs a farm business where several of the farm workers' families also live within the farm area. Sasi says "it's like a small community since many families have kids and the family has got bigger and bigger for decades."

Sasi loves watching the moon and chose the name Lunalie for her bags as it reflects her love of 'lunar'.

Why did Sasi choose to design her bags from washable paper?

Washable Kraft Paper is a German engineered paper used in making jeans' tags. People give it different names: washable paper, washable kraft paper, kraft paper fabric, leather paper, Kraft-Tex, etc. Basically, it is a lightweight kraft paper with high tear resistance, made of biodegradable natural fibre.
Washable Paper is natural and sustainable, coming from a plant-based natural leather. Washable paper will not wear out or degrade like synthetic leather and also can withstand difficult weather conditions
Washable paper bags are made from 100% paper (cellulose fibres) combined with organic latex that is lightweight and greatly resistant to tears. The cellulose comes from specially farmed trees. This process has been approved by the FSC. After the combination of the cellulose strands and the latex, the product is tanned, with a procedure analogous to that involved in the tanning of leather. This tanning is what gives the washable paper its weathered leathery appearance and results it to be very durable and water resistance, thus the name washable. If it gets dirty, a toothbrush and a little soap water is the best way to care for it.

It is light and versatile material sews, cuts, and washes just like fabric. The fibre-based texture softens and crinkles with handling and washing. It was also known as faux leather paper as it will aged and soften, forming wrinkly marks like leather.

How to clean
Hand wash with mild soap. No bleach – or machine wash, gentle cycle, cold water. Drip dry only. Do not put in a dryer, dry clean, or use an iron on this fabric.
