Chiang Mai is the place to be for Songkran or Thai New Year. 3 days of water fights in the streets to celebrate this special time in April each year is possibly the most fun it is possible to have anywhere on earth. But every so often during those 3 days a break is needed - some quiet, some aircon and a chance to dry off just for an hour or so before venturing back out into the craziness of it all.
I'd retreated into OP Place by chance; its large open air-conditioned space exhibiting handicrafts and local designs offered that welcome break. It is easy to find, just down from the Night Bazaar and next to the Meridien Hotel.
In OP I was drawn to the De Lann counter by the vibrant colours and unique designs. Elegant, modern but with broad appeal across a wide age range. I had to find out more.
Established in 2009 and inspired by ideas they've collected from around the world De Lann's designers create new collections regularly but with a common theme - creating contemporary, bold and original fashion jewellery. I was a kid in a candy store when I visited their main showroom at the Colonial Style building known as Raming Tea House (pictured below). I have no doubt you'll love De Lann's creations as much as I do!
